I received the nicest compliment the other day. I was told that I should become a freelance writer. I have no idea how to even begin doing this, but I admit I'm fascinated by the idea. There are some websites like freelancer.com where freelance writers can connect with clients for various projects but so far all I've found are sites you have to pay for. I just don't have the money right now to do anything like that. Maybe Craigslist might be a good place to start, but again, I'm not sure how to go about it. Writing is something I can do from home and it would definitely supplement my income. I'd also have to figure out the tax implications of doing something like that as well as I certainly don't want to get in trouble with the IRS. I doubt any of the reputable resources offer under the table arrangements. My degree is in Business Management not English or Communication so I am somewhat hesitant about my qualifications. I really wanted to pursue a Master's degree in Writing and Communications but that fell by the wayside and now I'm not in a position for that to happen. I did take a couple of courses that are applicable and every class I took required extensive writing of postings and papers. Apart from that all I have to show as far as my writing chops is this blog which, as the name suggests, is totally random in nature. Don't get me wrong, I'm not ashamed of my postings on here; I'm actually rather proud of myself for sticking with it. So what do you think? Am I good enough to offer my services for a fee? I'd love to get some additional feedback so please feel free to comment whether it's on here, on Facebook or Google+. I guess I need a little more encouragement to take it seriously at this point so please don't hesitate to let me know what you think!
